Dr. Abdullah is beyond excited to start his career as a Rheumatology specialist at VeraLife. He is a true British Columbian: he completed all of his medical training with distinction at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC.
Besides certification in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, he is also dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology with the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Abdullah is passionate about patient empowerment: he believes the key to health rests within every patient and every patient has the ability to access it. He also believes in the comprehensive and patient-centred care model: psychological and spiritual well being are just as important as physical health.
At this time, his practice is mainly focused on general rheumatology, which includes conditions such as inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis etc), systemic connective tissue diseases (systemic lupus, inflammatory myositis etc), and vasculitis among many other auto-immune conditions. He speaks fluent Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi, as well as Pashto.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Abdullah is quite ambitious about making progress as an author, a photographer, a travel blogger, and a food critic.
He is looking forward to welcoming his new patients at the Scott Road clinic.
